Reptiles and the San Andreas Fault!

Two local residents of the San Andreas Fault are the Chuckwalla (top photo) and the Desert Iguana (bottom photo). They both like the heat and the San Andreas Fault can get very warm during the summer months. The Chuckwalla is the largest non-venomous lizard in the United States. It can inflate its body in the cracks of rocks so that predators cannot pull them out! Both photos were taken on our San Andreas Fault Tour!

Hollywood VIP Express Tour! Elite Land Tours

The top two photos are Falcon Lair - the former home of both Doris Duke and Rudolph Valentino. The next photos were both taken on the Paramount Studios Tour which is part of our Hollywood VIP Express Tour. The bottom photo of the pink mansion is the exact location in Beverly Hills where the Tate Murders took place on August 9th, 1969.

Guest photos! A feast for the eyes! Elite Land Tours

All of the incredible photos below were taken by one of our Canadian guests. They were so spectacular that we couldn't wait to post them! The photos are all from our Nocturnal Treasures Tour.

Kudos to Elite Land Tours!

Here is a nice note we received from the Producer of the new FOX TV Series entitled: "American Desert Magazine". Craig Woodson and Mark Farley of Elite Land Tours provided the "on-air" talent for the segment on Wind Energy since one of our most popular tours is the Palm Springs Windmill Tour.

Hey Mark,

It was great working with you this past weekend. If I am able to meet and work with people even half as knowledgeable and passionate in their work as you are, this series will be in the bag. Primarily just from talking with you, I am planning another visit out to Palm Springs and we would really like to work with you again. I am looking at the list of tours that you guys provide for the area and I am having some serious problems whittling down all the subject matters and trying to leave room for other features. Everything looks just too exciting. Before we come back out though, I'm scheduling a shoot for Death Valley and I hoped to get Craig's expertise and some suggestions for stories. If you could get me his email or give him mine I would really appreciate it.

We just got a good look at the footage yesterday and It's going to be hard to try to fit in all the cool stuff we learned and saw but we will certainly do Elite Land Tours justice and I hope this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Tarantulas and Roadrunners! Elite Land Tours - Palm Springs, CA

The desert is absolutely amazing! We never know what we will see on one of our Joshua Tree Adventures. This trip we saw a Roadrunner fly which is extremely rare and a Tarantula crawl down its hole.

Taping a series called "American Desert Magazine" for FOX!

Yesterday, Mark Farley and Craig Woodson shot a segment for a FOX Network show titled "American Desert Magazine" to be aired in October. It focused on the Palm Springs Wind Farms which is one of our most popular tours.

I can see for miles and miles! Elite Land Tours

When we take our guests up to the highest peak (top photo), the first thing they say is, "I can see for miles and miles". It's a gradual ascent so the look on their faces when they get to the top is priceless! It is completely unexpected. The 360 degree view is breathtaking and the photo opportunities are incredible!

The elusive Long-nosed Leopard Lizard! Elite Land Tours

This nice family from Toronto was lucky enough to see the rare Long-nosed Leopard Lizard on their San Andreas Fault Tour yesterday. It happened to get very close to the tire of the Hummer. The female specimen in the photos below clearly shows that she is ready to breed or is "pregnant". During the mating season, females will develop reddish-orange spots and bars on their sides and underneath the tail when gravid. (Gravid means carrying developing young or eggs.) The breeding season extends from May to June with a single clutch of 5-6 eggs being laid usually in the months of June and July, which hatch in the late summer months of July and August.

Another exciting Nocturnal Treasures Tour!

From lightning storms to scorpions, it was quite a show last night in the desert. Another appearance was made by a Southern Pacific Rattlesnake. Our excited Wisconsin guests were fully entertained! But, as always, they kept a safe distance. All of the videos and photos below came from their Nocturnal Treasures Tour.

Snake under the Hummer! Yikes! Elite Land Tours

There are many incredible sights and unusual surprises on the Nocturnal Treasures Tour. Watch the two videos below from last night's tour. The wonderful family from New York City really got an up close and personal look at our spectacular desert!
