A Southern Pacific Rattlesnake on our Joshua Tree Adventure!

This snake is highly irritable and easily provoked, but will usually attempt escape if encountered. It generally reveals its presence by rattling well before you see it. Caution should be employed when approaching them closely. Often, several Southern Pacific Rattlesnakes can be found congregating under objects in the winter and spring months. The specimen below was spotted on our Joshua Tree Adventure Tour!
