7.2 earthquake shakes our valley!

3:40 PM today a 7.2 earthquake hit just south of Mexicali and was felt all over Southern California and as far north as Santa Barbara. It was also felt as far away as Phoenix. It was a strike-slip earthquake and it was a fault running parallel to the San Andreas Fault. Furthermore, it was just west of our infamous San Andreas Fault. The photos below were taken on the San Andreas Fault Tour yesterday. There were two tours on the fault today. The guides did notice that dust was kicked up into the air but being in the Hummer, did not feel the movement. FYI: wildflowers are still blooming at the fault as you can see in the photos below!

The Quake was close to home!
Be prepared to take one of the HUMMERS
& hit the high seas when the earth
starts to move. Don't forget the Doggies
    & the Turtles!
