There is nothing like a Jackrabbit that lives on the San Andreas Fault. Because of the harsh terrain and lack of vegetation, they live a tough life. You can see in the photo below that this jackrabbit is quite thin. The hip bones are visible even from a distance. We are always amazed at their ability to survive in this type of environment.
