Reptiles and the San Andreas Fault!

Two local residents of the San Andreas Fault are the Chuckwalla (top photo) and the Desert Iguana (bottom photo). They both like the heat and the San Andreas Fault can get very warm during the summer months. The Chuckwalla is the largest non-venomous lizard in the United States. It can inflate its body in the cracks of rocks so that predators cannot pull them out! Both photos were taken on our San Andreas Fault Tour!
